Strike hits container throughput at Chennai

ANOTHER strike at Chennai port has caused a 60 per cent drop in container movements and up to four day delays for cargo handling.
The strike, called in late May by senior tug masters, paralysed container movement to such an extent throughput dropped from the usual figure of 100 TEUs per shift to no more than 40 TEUs.
