A NEW port to be built on Egypt's north coast is aiming to have a handling capacity of 900,000 TEUs by 2005 and 3 million TEUs by 2015

The proposed container hub port is expected to be headed by P&O Ports and will cost US$700 million. The new facility, which will reportedly be established according to a 50-year build-operate-transfer contract, will be privately managed.
