HK port's box traffic falls 19% in Jan

[HONGKONG]

A Hongkong container port run by Cosco Pacific Ltd and Hutchison Whampoa Ltd said traffic plunged in January, showing Asia's slowing economies are squeezing China's exports and business at the world's biggest port.

Some analysts said the January decline may mark the start of a prolonged slowdown in shipping and container handling business.
