    Transocean Offshore Inc. (NYSE: RIG) and Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB) today announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement. Schlumberger's offshore contract drilling business of (Sedco Forex Offshore) will be spun off and "promptly" combined with Transocean Offshore. The resulting company, Transocean Sedco Forex, will be the world's largest offshore drilling company.

Kinnock reste commissaire et sera chargé des réformes administratives au sein de la Commission. Ces réformes ne sont pas un luxe superflu après la série de scandales qui ont mené à la démission prématurée de la Commission Santer.
  • TRW remise sur les rails
    La société belge de transport combiné rail/route TRW semble être remise sur les bons rails. Non seulement sur le plan des trafics, mais aussi des finances. Fin de l'année dernière, le trafic était tombé à moins de 8.000 UTI (unités de transport intermodal) transportées par mois, mais fin juin dernier, on dépassait les 10.000. D'ici la fin de l'année, TRW espère bien traiter au moins 12.500 unités par mois.
