Number of Containers Handled at Korean Ports Rose 10 Pct Last Year

The number of marine containers handled at the nation's ports increased 10.6 percent last year over 1997.

According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MOMAF), the containers handled in Korea stood at 6.63 million TEUs (20-feet equivalent unit), an increase of 610,000 TEUs from a year earlier.
