Star Cruises posts Q1 income of US$16.4m

KUALA LUMPUR: Star CRUISES plc has posted a net income of US$16.4mil for the first quarter to March 31, 1999, compared with a loss of US$13mil in the previous corresponding quarter.

Operating income for the quarter under review rose 163% to US$19.1mil from US$7.3mil previously, while basic earnings per share rose to 2.6 from 1.5 US cents.
