L'UE impose des amendes "raisonnables" aux membres du FETTCSA La Commission européenne a imposé des amendes d'un montant de près de 7 millions d'EUR à quinze opérateurs de ligne, qui avaient convenu entre eux de ne pas accorder de réductions sur leurs tarifs. Ils faisaient tous partie du Far East Trade Tariff Charges and Surcharges Agreement (FETTCSA). Il s'agit des membres de la FEFC suivants Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, CMA CGM, K-Line, MISC, MOL, NOL, NYK, OOCL et des indépendants Evergreen, Hanjin + DSR-Senator, Cho Yang et Yangming. Le montant total des amendes, près de 7 mio. d'EUR, est relativement raisonnable, suite au fait que l'infraction des règles européennes de concurrence commise est moins grave qu'un cartel tarifaire.
Les priorités "Transport" de la présidence française Selon le ministre chargé notamment des Transports, la présidence française de l'Union européenne agira en particulier pour accélérer les mesures concernant la sécurité maritime. Objectif: imposer le système double coque dès 2008. S'agissant du transport ferroviaire, le ministre français se félicite d'avoir "fait reculer l'ultra-libéralisme". Un peu de trop, car le cabinet de Stevaert oublie que les transports vers Zeebrugge sont actuellement assurés par 5 trains par jour...
