Cette politique accorde une attention particulière au transport ferroviaire et à la voie d’eau en tant qu’alternative au transport routier. Ces modes bénéficieront en conséquence de moyens supplémentaires. La déclaration de politique fédérale a dans les grandes lignes suivi les propositions de la ministre.
  • Fluvial: vers un record historique
    La navigation intérieure en Flandre se dirige tout droit sur un record historique. Fin septembre, le trafic sur les voies d’eau flamandes avait augmenté de 16,7%. Sur le Canal Albert, la croissance a même atteint 30% exprimée en tonnes/kilomètres. Le nombre d’entreprises optant pour le transport par la voie d’eau et participant au financement des murs de quai augmente. “Il n’y a pas d’alternative”. C’est en ces termes que Filip Martens de Promotie Binnenvaart Vlaanderen (PBV) a résumé la situation lundi soir, dans un exposé à l’Association des Intérêts Portuaires de Gand. Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que tous les problèmes sont résolus.
