22 pc rise in handling at Chennai Port

There has been a 22 per cent rise in cargo handling at Chennai Port during the first four months of this
fiscal (April-July) to 14.31 million tonnes against 11.69 million tonnes handled in April-July '99.

During the period, the Port handled 1,19,323 TEUs compared to 1,03,070 TEUs during the same period last year, registering an increase of over 15 per cent, ......
