EU extends sugar quota regime for 2 years

The European Commission (EC) proposes to extend the sugar production quota regime for two years but promised far-reaching reforms in 2003.
The EC's proposals, adopted by the EU's executive body, sought lowering of production quota by 115,000 tonnes a year, abolishing the reimbursement of storage costs to producers and simplifying the market organisation. ...... Read more on Exim India
