Foreign airlines operating services to Egypt have been threatened with financial penalties if they reject a steep increase in ground handling charges that the airlines say contravenes an earlier agreement.

The increase, which would be applied retrospectively from January 1, would raise ground handling charges at Cairo airport by more than 100 ......
