IN THE first six months of this financial year (April to September), the major ports handled a total of 137.99 million tonnes of cargo against 133.84 million tonnes in the corresponding previous period, thus posting a little more than 3 per cent growth.

During the same period, Mumbai, Calcutta, Kandla, Kochi and New Mangalore ports posted negative growth ......
