Economic slowdown expected to continue

U.S. brokerage house Merrill Lynch expects the Korean economy to continue to slow in the second half of this year.
In a recent report on Asia's economic trends, the securities firm forecast that Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) would grow 6 percent in the second half with an annual growth rate of 8.3 percent.
