Hyundai Heavy to scale back shipbuilding

[SEOUL]

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Ltd said it will scale back shipbuilding operations to below 50 per cent of total sales and focus more on oil exploration equipment and construction equipment. Shipbuilding will make up 40 per cent of total revenue by 2003 and less than 25 per cent by 2010, against 55.6 per cent in 1999, it said.
