German port has big ideas for shipping

The German state of Lower Saxony is waging a DM1.5bn (E766m, $672m) bet that container ships - like aircraft - will just grow larger and larger. That is the sum it hopes to raise together with the city states of Hamburg and Bremen and from private investors to build a new container port by 2010 at the north German city of Wilhelmshaven.
