Hyundai Group separates petchem, insurance units

Hyundai Group officially deaffiliated Hyundai Petrochemical and Hyundai Life Insurance Friday, the companies said Saturday in separate disclosures to the Korea Stock Exchange.

Hyundai Heavy Industries, which remains a unit of Hyundai Group, has transferred its 50 percent stake and voting rights in Hyundai Petrochemical to the latter's creditor banks.
