Japan Overtakes Korea in Ship Orders

South Korea's shipbuilding industry is likely to yield first place to Japan in number of orders this year.
During the first half of the year, Korea received orders of 4.5 million CGT (compensated gross tonnage) while Japan enjoyed contracts worth 4.7 million CGT, according to Lloyd's Register yesterday.
