Selon Mario Monti, le commissaire européen compétent en matière de concurrence, l’accord n’influencera pas ou peu la concurrence existante sur le marché pour ce type de services puisque Deutsche Post AG entretenait déjà des rapports étroits avec DHL International, qui est sous le contrôle de DP et de la compagnie aérienne allemande Lufthansa à l’heure actuelle.
