Durban shipping lines slap on tax

The exports boom expected to go hand-in-hand with the plummeting rand has been dealt a damaging blow, with every major shipping line serving SA slapping a hefty congestion surcharge on cargo moving through Durban harbour.
The decision will increase export costs at a time when government is relying on them to drive economic growth.
