JAL-JAS tieup would hurt competition: FTC

The Fair Trade Commission on Friday challenged the merger plan of Japan Airlines Co. and Japan Air System Co., saying the move would impede domestic flight competition and lead to higher fares.
The FTC made the comments in an interim report on the proposal.
JAL and JAS, which announced their merger in November, immediately released a joint statement saying they will submit a revised merger plan to the commission. ...... Read more on The Japan Times Online
