Container throughput at Hong Kong's Kwai Chung port is set to grow by about 4 per cent this year to more than 12 million TEUs (20-foot equivalent units).
But overall box volumes at the port, taking into account river trade and mid-stream stevedoring operations, should climb by up to 6 per cent to 20 million TEUs this year.
Modern Terminals managing director Erik Bogh Christensen added that throughput at Kwai Chung last month was likely to be the same as last year, while "October will show positive growth"
