Port tariff rises will hurt exports'

TRANSNET's port businesses, the National Ports Authority (NPA) and South African Port Operations (Sapo), will increase their annual tariffs 3,1 % and 6% respectively from next month, a move that has angered the shipping industry as it battles against the effects of the strong rand.

The tariff increases, which shipping lines said would "hamper SA's export-led economy", come into effect on Thursday ......
