MUMBAI, FEB 17: Shahi Shipping is planning to commission the first phase of its dry-dock facility at Alibaug in Maharashtra by January 2005. The dry-dock spread over 35 acres will call for an overall investment of Rs 200 crore spread over three phases.
The first phase, however, will cost Rs 10 crore, having a capacity for dry docking 3-4 vessels per month of 4,000 DWT (dead weight tonnage), SK Shahi, chairman and managing director, Shahi Shipping said. The second phase will create facility for dry docking offshore supply vessels, while the third phase will see vessels upto 50,000 DWT, Mr Shahi added
