DOHA: Qatar Shipping Company (Q-Ship) has signed a $223mn financing deal of a 10-year tenure with Korean Export Import Bank and a consortium of commercial banks led by Credit Lyonnais to part finance eight vessels being built in South Korea now.
This is the first transaction for Korean Export Import Bank (Kexim) and Credit Lyonnais (CL) with Q-Ship.
The eight vessels Q-Ship awaits include six Aframax size crude oil tankers for delivery between October 2005 and June 2006. These are now being built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries, South Korea
