After suffering the blow of the cancellation of 142 cruise liner visits this year with a potential loss of 180,000 cruise visitors, the industry is now faced with a new problem stemming from the introduction without notice of a new procedure, the Federation of Associations of Tourism and Travel Agencies (FATTA) said in a statement.
Under the pretext of meeting the requirements of the ISPS (International Ship and Port Security Code), the operators of the cruise line terminal are imposing that passengers returning to cruise ships after shore excursions are dropped off in the public area outside the terminal. This appears to be nothing but a ploy to usher passengers through VISET's retail area prior to embarkation
