Columbia River ports have spent millions of dollars to comply with security regulations that are still evolving, port officials said Wednesday.

As the July 1 deadline approaches for ports to comply with new standards in the Maritime Security Transportation Act, costs are sure to rise further, they said. And the federal government doesn't appear willing to cover all the new costs ......
