Doha: Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, yesterday said major LNG projects being planned will require the massive investment of $30bn, including the cost of production field development, plant construction, port expansion, the building of huge carriers as well as the receiving terminal infrastructure in new consumer markets.
He said it is anticipated that Qatar's gas exports will exceed 60 million tonnes per annum by 2010, up from the current production of 18 million tonnes per annum, following the introduction of Train 3 of RasGas last month
