The Philippine shipping industry is expected to grow by an average of 16 percent over the next five years or an added market value of P20 billion by the year 2010.
In an industry report under its court-approved rehabilitation plan, shipping firm Negros Navigation Co. (Nenaco) said based on the growth trend of the last five years, economic experts expect that ports all over the country will display renewed strength as business activities regain vigor, particularly in domestic trading, and will post growths in cargo, passenger, and ship traffic
