Smaller ships plying the Straits of Malacca are advised to be extra vigilant as they are more vulnerable to pirate attacks compared with larger vessels.

The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has cautioned them to maintain strict anti-piracy watches even during daylight hours and to inform authorities immediately if they notice any suspicious craft movements ......
