Shenzhen will continue to breathe down Shanghai's neck for third position in the world's top 10 container ports, according to latest figures yesterday.

Shenzhen moved into fourth position at the end of last year, behind Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong, which kept its top place.

In the first quarter of this year, container throughput in Shenzhen climbed 30 per cent over the same period last year to reach 2.78 million TEUs (20-foot equivalent units), the city's port management bureau said ......
