QATAR is one step closer towards setting up the world's largest LNG trains with HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani laying the foundation stone for the $12.8bn Qatargas-II (QGII) project at Ras Laffan yesterday.
QGII is a 70:30 joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, which will supply liquefied natural gas to the UK for 25 years, with the first delivery expected by late 2007
