OFFICIAL records of shipment volume going through Brunei's Port of Singapore Authority-managed Muara Port for the year 2004 show a startling increase of a full quarter to just over 100,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) from the previous year, attributable largely to a tripling of transshipment volume.
Such figures ought to send alarm bells ringing, particularly in Sarawak, from where, it can quite safely be adduced, much of Brunei's transshipment business would have been generated
