US vessel begins surveying depth

A US Navy hydrographic vessel has begun surveying depths in the Straits of Malacca off the Aceh coastline, amid reports of massive depth changes near vital shipping lanes after the Dec 26 earthquake and tsunamis.

This is following claims by groups that portions of the seabed off Aceh have shifted from a depth of around 1,250 metres to just 31 metres ......
