PORT OF TRIESTE MOVES 124,772 TEU (+24.38%) IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF '97
All-time monthly high at Pier VII (19.437 TEU, +13,38%)

The first semester of 1997 recorded an overall handling of 124,772 teu, over the 100,317 teu handled in the same period of 1996 (+24.38%) with an all-time monthly high at Pier VII container terminal of 19,437 teu (+13.38%)
In one considers only general cargo, the commercial sector recorded a 16.32% increase.
The ferry traffic to and from Turkey and Greece showed an upward trend with increases in handled tons of +17.89% and + 49.68% respectively.
