For the first half of 2011 an increment of 6% of the containerized imports in the USA is attended



The National American Retail Federation (NRF) previews that in the first semester of this year the imports of container through the ports Americans will pile to 7,3 million teu, with an increase of 6% regarding the first half of 2010, period in which was recorded an increment of 17% of the imports regarding the first six months of 2009. Ben Hackett, founder of the Hackett Associates, the society that with the NRF elaborates the semiannual relationship Global Port relative Tracker to the containerized imports in the USA (and, recently, also to that through the nordeuropei ports), has explained that 2011, "although persistent the high rates unemployment, will see the return of the consumers which main motive power of the imports through the line services. The indicators of short term who guide our model - have specified - they suggest that this year will be a strong increase, but our attention is on the fact that the recorded rates of growth in 2010 will not be repeated. We consider that the increase anniversary will be between the 7 and 8%".

The NRF has announced that the preliminary data of the containerized imports in the USA last January indicate in order a traffic of 1.140.000 teu, with an increase of 6% regarding January 2010, while for the month in course a traffic of 1.110.000 teu is previewed, in increase of 11% regarding February 2010. For the next month a traffic of 1.160.000 teu (+8% on March 2010) and for the next months respective of 1.220.000 teu is attended in April (+7%), of 1.300.000 teu in May (+3%) and of 1.370.000 teu in june (+4%).
