Today, the regional council of Friuli Venezia Giulia has not voted in favor of the documentation relating to the National Master Plan of the global system of Slovenian port of Koper.The agency explained that the decision taken on the basis of a resolution proposed by the regional to the Roads and Transport, Riccardo Riccardi, following the opinion already expressed unfavorable in June 2010, in particular the lack of documentation and some elements Resuming deemed necessary, based on the revised documents submitted in late January by the Republic of Slovenia to the Italian Ministry of Environment, and the department sent to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the regional government has confirmed that the information received is incomplete and does not allow make complex judgments about the absence of a report technical memorandum describing the strategic choices of the Plan and to analyze, in addition to any environmental impacts that may occur within the limited area of the project, including impacts in a territory more extensive, involving cross-border areas.
In addition, the region has indicated in its opinion, there are still shortcomings and inadequacies both in transport terms, aspects of environmental and infrastructure, as well as the need for the so-called mitigation measures set out in the Environmental Report (missing last year, but sent to Roma by the authorities in Ljubljana in recent months) should be included in the plan of the port of Koper, as a key condition for the minimization of the significance of impacts is also cross-border.
