Last day of school also for Genoa Port Center



In the course of the school year as soon as finished Genoa Port Center (GPC), the only exhibition center of spreading of the born Mediterranean in order to introduce to the great public the truth of the port of Genoa, has received beyond 300 classes for a total almost 7,000 students and 530 teacher. A budget more than positive realized thanks to the project "City of the Port - second edition", financed of the Province of Genoa and from Carige Foundation, that it has afforded to the students of the secondary and primary schools interested to visit free of charge the Center and to take part to the didactic activities and of laboratory.

The joined visits to Genoa Port Center to the turn of the port in boat with the accompanyment of formed scientific entertainers ad hoc have been 244, while 46 classes have experienced the activities of laboratory to topic. Smash hit has recorded also the special visits: graces to a series of agreements with some large partner of the GPC (Agency of Customs, Harbour Authority, Harbour office, Body Pilots, Agency Basins, Group Ancient Ormeggiatori, Reunited Istituto Idrografico of Marina, MSC Cruises, Tugs, Sech, Shippers, Marine Stations, VTE) very 80 classes of students have had the occasion to approach and to know intimately the places where these companies operate, difficultly accessible zones from the simple citizens where the very many activities and the professions are expressed in concrete terms every day that they make "to live" the port of Genoa. Last partner to join has been Large the Navi Veloci with an experimental project that has seen protagonists a hundred of boys of the Centers of Education to the Job of the Municipality of Genoa.

2011 second edition has seen moreover the launch of two important initiatives realized within "Citizens of the Port -": thanks to the collaboration with the project "Free Age - active Aging", of Foundation Carige, almost 2,000 hooligan 65enni coming from the main municipalities of the regional territory has visited Genoa Port Center; the Center "has moreover increased" its borders to the Piemonte as a result of the signature of the protocol of understanding between the Province of Genoa and that of Alexandria in order to promote the cultural fruizione of the Center for organized groups of adults and schools.

"The objective that the Province has been given through Genoa Port Center - has declared the president of the Province of Genoa, Alessandro Repetto - it is that to make to at least once pass from the port in their scholastic distance all the students of the Liguria from here to 2015. We hope in this way of giving our contribution to the increase of aware and pleasant citizens". Today, in two years of activity, the genoese structure has already received 15% of the genoese students.
