The Danish shipping group DFDS has sold the German subsidiary DFDS Seaways Rhenus the Maasvlakte Logistics BV, a company that operates a terminal in the port area Maasvlakte in Rotterdam which has the property. .
The terminal, which began operations in 2003, covers an area of 200,000 square meters including three warehouses.
DFDS said it had decided the sale to result in the integration of group activities in the North Sea, Norfolkline, which was acquired in July ( of 13 July 2010), and has dispensed with the presence of the terminal in the operational network of DFDS. Earlier this year, DFDS ro-ro service between Rotterdam and Immingham area was transferred from the terminal at Maasvlakte in the port terminal Norfolkline Vlaardingen Rotterdam.
