Last month in the French port of Sète has reached a new ship-to-shore cranes Panamax, with a reach of 44 meters, the Port Authority has ordered the airport to the Portuguese Eurocrane with an investment of 6.5 million euros.
The quay cranes, weighing almost 1,200 tons, 71 meters high and 29 meters wide, was assembled in the factory of Aveiro, Portugal and is carried on board the ship in Sète Fairplayer of Jumbo Shipping. This is the largest container cranes ever transported by the Dutch shipping company.
The Etablissement Public Régional Port de Sète, South of France (EPR South of France) recalled that the French port has implemented an investment program worth 300 million euros over the next ten years with the aim of increasing container traffic. This year there is a traffic of approximately 20,000 TEUs compared to 6,500 TEU containers handled in 2010.The goal is to reach an annual volume of 180,000 TEUs in 2017-2018.
