Fincantieri anticipates a project for the realization of "navalizzati" systems for the treatment of urban solid waste



Yesterday near the Faculty of Economy of the University of Naples Federico II the project is introduced "To put molding on" for the realization of "navalizzati" systems for the treatment of urban solid waste that is devised and promoted by the navalmeccanico group Fincantieri through its applied research center Cetena (Center for Naval Technology Study).

The project, with which Fincantieri intends to create a new producing line of, previews the realization of floating platforms with systems for the fuel production from refusals and next energetic recovery, ships for the transport of urban solid waste collected from islands or other territories with insufficient terrestrial practicability, and endowed ships of systems for the shunting of the refusals and fuel production refusals to transfer from port to port.

In particular the project "To put molding on", that it is in advanced phase of development, previews the construction of two not automotive floating platforms to place itself in "protected" waters: the first dedicated to the reception of urban solid waste with fuel production from refusals (with digestion of about 400 tons to the day of urban solid waste) and the second one for the gasification of the same one producing through I use it of technology to the plasma in a position to recovering energy from the gas of produced synthesis.

Fincantieri has specified that, to light of the various level of maturity of the system technologies used, for the project has assumed a modular approach that previews to leave shortly with the realization of the platform dedicated to the fuel production from refusals to which, in a second phase, will come abreast the platform with system to the plasma, that there is a need for a more long period than set up.

The Italian navalmeccanico group has emphasized that these floating, opportunely equipped and technologically advance ones, would take advantage of the marine spaces, guaranteeing the decongestion of the terrestrial areas used after rubbish dumps, often limited and penalized from considerable logistic problems. Moreover the project, contributing in echo-compatible way to the solution of the problem of the refusals, would offer obvious advantages: next solid and gaseous emissions polluting to the zero, times of realization breviums, contained and sure operating costs of realization and, limited impact on the territory thanks to the possibility to localize the systems in opportune harbour dismesse or abandoned areas.

At last - it has still evidenced Fincantieri - the construction of the platforms, in a moment, as the current one, of dramatic crisis of the navalmeccanico section, would give impulse to the industry shipbuilding generating important fallen back occupational that they would derive from the construction of the systems and, once operating, from their management.

To the presentation they are taken part, between the others, the undersecretary of the ministry of the Economy and Finances, Bruno Cesario, the president of the Campania Region, Stefano Caldoro, the president of the Province of Naples, Luigi Cesaro, the mayor of Castellammare di Stabia, Luigi Bobbio, the chancellor of the University, Massimo Marrelli, the headmaster of the Faculty of Economy, Achille Basile, and the managing director of Fincantieri, Giuseppe Bono.
