The shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Japanese ("K" Line), as did compatriot Mitsui OSK Lines ( of 30 September 2011), today announced a downward adjustment to the planned closure of the first half of the financial year 2011, which corresponds to the period April 1 - June 30, 2011. Now the company expects to close the first half of the year with a net loss of 16 billion yen on revenues of 498 billion yen compared to a net loss of two billion yen on revenues of 500 billion yen estimated in the previous forecast made two months ago. "K" Line believes that operating income will be negative for 19 billion yen compared to a deficit of 15 billion yen operating previously estimated.
The new forecast for the entire fiscal year 2011 (period 1 April 2011-31 March 2012) is a net loss of 30 billion yen and operating a deficit of 32 billion yen on revenues of 998 billion yen compared to the previous forecast of a net profit of two billion yen and operating a deficit of five billion yen on revenues of 1.06 trillion yen.
