d'Amico International Shipping has announced that its operating subsidiary d'Amico Tankers Ltd (Ireland), as a result of the request to that effect by the current shipping company Shipping D'Amato, did not accept further postponement in the decision by the national courts, called for the closure of the procedure which is conditioned the purchase of Fabrizia D'Amato, double-hulled tanker of 40,081 deadweight tons built in 2004 by South Korean shipyards Shin-A Shipbuilding Co. , and called for the ineffectiveness of the preliminary contract (MOA) and the related sale of the vessel.
d'Amico International Shipping has stated that the decision was made as a result of excessive delay from the scheduled date of delivery of the vessel, leading also to the previous extensions announced last July 11 and August 2, and that, in accordance with the MOA and making use of the rights provided therein, d'Amico Tankers Ltd will refund the entire amount by D'Amato Shipping paid in advance for the purchase of the ship within the current week.
