The Swedish shipping company Rederi AB TransAtlantic acquire the entire share capital of the British company SBS Marine (Holdings) Ltd. which will be sold for about 340 million Swedish kronor (37 million) from the Norwegian Kistefos AS, which in turn owns 54% of the share capital and 65% of the votes through the branches of TransAtlantic Viking Supply Ships (VSS) and Folke Patriksson.
TransAtlantic stated that SBS Marine has a net debt of approximately SEK 480 million and that the Swedish company will realize a capital gain of approximately SEK 550 million with the objective of financing the acquisition and strengthen its financial position for the next division of the group that provides for the creation of two companies and Trans Viking Rederi AB TransAtlantic Offshore A / S.
Acquisition and capital increase must be approved by the extraordinary shareholders TransAtlantic scheduled for Nov. 7.
SBS Marine, headquartered in Aberdeen, operates a fleet of six Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), of which five are newly built and has an annual turnover of approximately SEK 220 million.
