In according to trimester the 2013 Wärstilä it has recorded a decrease of 11% of the new orders



In according to trimester of this year group Wärtsilä Corporation it has confiscated new orders for a total value pairs to 1.071 million euros, with a decrease of 11% regarding the correspondent period of 2012. The consistency of the pocketbook orders of the group on 30 June has been attested to 4.763 million euros, with an increase of 5% regarding on June 30, 2012. In the single segment of the naval propulsion the group has obtained new orders for 380 million euros, with a bending of 15% on according to trimester of 2012, and the value of the orderbook on 30 June in this segment of market has turned out to be pairs to 2.289 million euros (+5%).

Wärstilä has closed the second trimester of 2013 with a profit before the taxes of 104 million euros regarding 98 million euros in the same period last year. The turnover clearly has grown of 5% to 1.152 million euros (315 million euros in the single segment of the naval propulsion, +6%) and operating profit (EBIT) is diminished of 2% to 111 million euros.

"The developments in according to trimester have commented the president and CEO of the Björn Rosengren group - they have been reasonable in consideration of the current economic situation, with a turnover clearly that it is increased of 5% and a profit to 9.6%. We continue to work in order to obtain this year an increase and the attainment of the profit objectives. The markets of the marine field are showing some signs of improvement, with the segments offshore and of the specialistic ships that continue to being active. Moreover the competitive prices of the new constructions and the greater efficiency in the fuel consumption of the new ships are attracting investments in the field of the mercantile ships. Altogether - it has added Rosengren - the levels of the orders are inferior regarding last year, in particular for the division Power Plants where we are assisting to delays in the decisional processes of the customers. We have seen some resumption in the markets of the services that is reflected clearly in the increase of 4% of the turnover in the Services division. Thanks to ours consisting orderbook and to the stability of the Services activity, our perspectives for the 2013 remain unchanged".

In the first semester of the 2013 Finnish group it has totaled a profit before taxes of 200 million euros regarding 192 million euros in the first half last year. The turnover clearly is diminished of 3% to 2.034 million euros (naval propulsion: 560 million euros, +4%) and the operating profit are dropped of 16% to 181 million euros. In the first six months of this year the new orders have been pairs to 2.424 million euros (+5%), of which 822 million euros in the single field of naval propulsion (+14%).
