Quintiq optimizes the European railway traffic of DB Schenker Rail



Railway company German DB Schenker Rail has entrusted to the Quintiq, group specialized in the supply of solutions for the planning and the optimization of the supply chain, in order to perfect the operating management of own European railway traffic. Quintiq will collaborate with the advisers IT of the Dutch Ab Ovo and with the internal unit IT to DB Schenker Rail in order to implement the platform necessary to realize this operation.

Remembering that DB Schenker Rail manages the greatest fleet than cars and locomotives in Europe, with a every day traffic of 5.300 cars and 100 billion ton-kilometer transported annually, Quintiq has emphasized that such activity of cooperation will allow to increase the profit and to reduce costs and wastes.

The platform of Quintiq will be developed in the organization of DB Schenker Rail so as to resolve the problems of planning of the rail shipment more complexes, that they include the management of the various qualifications of leading, the elaboration of the relative information to the acquaintance of the types of traction and the verification that the regarding norms locomotives and tracks are respected.

In the agreement moreover the creation of a center of support for the Quintiq solution of DB Schenker is included. The center will be organized from DB Systel and DB Systel, Ab Ovo and Quintiq will participate to you employee.
