Istituto Idrografico of Marina will inside have center of the port of Genoa



Today the Harbour Committee of Genoa has approved of the text of the program agreement that will shortly come undersigned for the ricollocazione of Istituto Idrografico of Marina Militare in a building inside of the port of Genoa a time used after center of the industrial laundries. The program agreement will be signed between the Defense Ministry, the ministry of the Economy and Finances through the Agency of the Federal property, the Harbour Authority of Genoa, the Harbour office, the Municipality of Genoa and the Liguria Region.

With the program agreement the manufactured one will be delivered to the Marina Militare who in its turn will put on some sites for harbour functions. The sites to re-integrate to harbour functions are the compendium of the Battery Star, the comprensorio of Punta Vagno and Lighthouse-Spider.

In this way not only we guarantee the prestigious permanence of Hydrographical to Genoa and the defense of many places of work, but we put Marina Militare in the conditions of being able to realize an Oceanographic center for all Mediterranean and to strengthen the collaboration with the harbour system. The buildings that we will receive moreover in exchange can offer to new scenes for ricollocazioni or consolidations of other concessionaires. Now it competes to the other agencies proceeding consequently in order to arrive quickly to the subscription of the program agreement".

the building that will accommodate Istituto Idrografico of Marina anticipates as a compact block to trapezoidal plant and develops on four floors above ground with an immense practicable terrace on the roof. It occupies an area total 2,700 square metres, placed on the tip of Gadda descent, almost in the middle of the sea and close of the Old Pier. The Harbour Authority has remembered that the building, already partially anticipates in 1930 and completed in 1932, until 2010 has been center of the industrial laundries and before Italy Navigation.

In occasion of the reunion today's Merlon has moreover announced of wanting to proceed, with the involvement of Confindustria and of the operators of the field, to the performance of a special plan for the field of the repairs aimed to a better rationalization of the spaces and to an investment program.
