the European Parliament has approved of the directive proposal on the planning of the marine space



Today the European Parliament has approved of a directive proposal on the planning of the marine space that has the objective to help the Member States to develop intended plans to favor a better coordination of the various activities that are carried out in sea and to guarantee some the how much more possible effectiveness and the sustainability. The fine ones are also to contribute to avoid potential conflicts between the launches use of the sea and in such a way to create a stable and attractive context for the investor, favoring a sustainable increase.

"The today's ballot of the European Parliament - Maria Damanaki, European commissioner for the marine Transactions and fishing, and Janez Potocnik, European commissioner for the Atmosphere have declared - marks an important progress that it will allow to improve the management of our seas and to guarantee of the sustainability, generating so new opportunities of increase in all the marine fields. In order to return the access to the more expectable marine space for the investor and to reduce meanwhile the environmental impact of the marine activities he is indispensable to coordinate the various activities that are carried out in our seas".

The directive establishes a series of requirement minimums for the elaboration of national plans of management of the marine space, in which the existing human activities will be characterized all, taking into consideration the interactions earth-sea, let alone the more effective modalities for their management. Since many of these activities cross the national frontiers, the directive will help the Member States to cooperate in more effective way.

The EU commission has emphasized that the planning of the marine space allows better to comprise the distribution of the marine resources and graces to it the operators will know which activities could be carried out, where and for how much time. Moreover it will contribute to reduce the redundancy of the current legislation and the administrative complexity.

The EU commission has remembered that, after the adoption by the ministers, the Member States will have to recepire the directive in the national legislation within 2016 and to designate the competent authority which charged to put into effect the planning of the marine space. Moreover within the 2021 States EU the respective plans of management of the space will have to elaborate marine that will have to be consistent to requirement minimums established from the directive, but with contained and strategies adapted to the economic, social and environmental priorities let alone to the objectives of national the sector policies and to the legal traditions of every State.
