It has taken to the sea Jolly Titanio, the greatest ship ro-ro portacontainer of the world



The new Jolly Titanio, the greatest ship ro-ro portacontainer of the world constructed from the ship yard of Jinhae of Offshore South Korean STX and Shipbuilding, has taken to the sea leaving the dock of the plant in which it is realized. The ship of the shipowning company genoese Ignazio Messina & C., is on the trip towards Europe with a first cargo of rotabili and is attended in the port of Genoa for the first days of January. Jolly Titanio therefore will be introduced in the regular service of line managed from from Liguria shipowning group between the ports of the Mediterranean and those of the Red Sea and the Middle East.

With Italian and registered crew in the Naval district of Genoa, Jolly Titanio - he has emphasized the company - "covers a particular meaning: on one side confirmation strong vitality, also in a period of crisis as that current one, the Italian fleet. From the other it supplies a confidence sign on the abilities to the Country: Italian flag and Italian crew rise for us to symbols of a Country that must return to believe in itself same".

Jolly Titanio is, with the binoculars Jolly Vanadio, Jolly Cobalto and Jolly Palladio still under construction near the same Korean yard, integral part of the second ulterior series of four ro-ro portacontainer that the genoese shipowning group has commissioned to the Asian yard. The ship is characterized, as its binoculars, from technology advanced and which provided with the most modern systems anti-pollution, equipped among other things of a sophisticated and innovative system of cleansing of gases of drainage in port so as in navigation and equipped of the Greenplus qualification by the RINA that certifys the maximum respect of the atmosphere. Long 240 meters and wide 37,50, the new ships develop a speed to the advanced design load to 21,5 knots and have an ability to 3.900 teu and 6,350 linear meters of rotabile cargo. The units have moreover of great operating flexibility, in particular of the maximum draught of 11,50 meters with a capacity of 45.000 tons. They are supplies of a cargo ramp with a capacity of 350 tons planned in order to allow the transport of exceptional cargos and system material until seven meters of height lowerdeck.

The first phase of the plan for the development and the modernization of the fleet of property of the Messina had been concluded at the beginning of 2013 with the commissioning of Jolly Quarzo (last of the four ships, always clappers Italian flag, constructed in the Korean yard Daewoo with Jolly Diamante, Jolly Perla and Jolly Cristallo). With the debut of Jolly Titanio the Messina group is now concentrating the efforts on the second series, that it will be completed within the first semester of 2015 from the others three binoculars currently under construction near STX.
