Unions and operators of the port of Trapani invoke the resumption of the work for the rifacimento of the Ronciglio dock



In a letter sent to the prefect of Trapani, Leopoldo Falco, the provincial secretaries of Trapani of the Fillea Cgil, Enzo Palmeri, for the Filca Cisl, Francesco Danese, and for the Feneal Uil, Giuseppe Tumbarello, have asked the convocation of urgent encounter in order to verify the possibility to find solutions for the resumption of the work for the rifacimento of the Ronciglio dock of the port of the Sicilian city involving - they have specified the representatives of the unions - also the competent ministries and the national Agency of the seized and confiscated assets to the organized crime.

Palmeri, Danese and Tumbarello have remembered that the work for the rifacimento of the dock is at the expense of the Sidra society and from the enterprise Coling Spa, this last one seized to the Morici entrepreneurs in April 2013 within a wider provision. The union members have announced to have learned from the judicial administrator who the Sidra - Italian Society Spa Dredgings - does not intend more to continue to pour capitals for the completion of the work, a contract from 41 million euros adjudicated in 2004 from a temporary association of enterprises and whose work is arrest warrants from last April.

"The block of the work of the port - they have denounced the three union members - represents a serious fact that arouses worry because at a distance ten-year-old from the award of the contract the work is still incomplete determining heavy repercussions to the detriment of the operators of the marine and harbour field, of the economic development of the Trapani territory and, not last, of the workers who have executed the work".

To the appeal of the three unions the New Consortium of the Port of Trapani has joined that has expressed "disdain for the lacked completion a work that after ten years still does not succeed to see the light" and "solidarity regarding all those workers who soon will be forced to remain at home because they will not have more a place of work". "The completion of the Ronciglio dock - they have found the representatives of the New Consortium - is of fundamental importance for the development of the harbour economy. To have more spaces and good infrastructures it means to have the possibility to attract new traffics and new operators. Of it achieves new occupation and well-being for the entire territory. To continue to ignore this simple paradigm means to condemn to the impoverishment our port and our city. The completion of the Ronciglio dock would mean not only a large oxygen puff for the increase of the harbour structure and its economy, but also the victory of the State on malaffare, to the flank of the healthy and productive part that our society is able to express".
