Improvement of the economic results of the Greeks Minoan Lines and Attica


In according to trimester and entire the first semester of this year Greeks Minoan Line and Attica has shown an improvement of the economic results. The first company, that it takes part of the Neapolitan shipowning group Grimaldi, has closed the period April-june with a profit clearly of 3,5 million euros on revenues for 44,6 million euros respect to a net loss of -0,7 million euros on revenues for 41,4 million euros in according to trimester of 2014. The EBITDA has attested to 15,2 million euros regarding 4,2 million in the period April-june last year.

In the first half of the 2015 Minoan Lines has recorded a profit clearly of 5,8 million euros respect to a net loss of -4,5 million euros in the same period last year. The revenues are increased of +8.1% to 78,7 million euros and the EBITDA has grown of +274.0% to 22,3 million euros. In the first six months of this year the fleet of the company employed on the routes between Greece and Italy has transported 148 thousand passengers (155 thousand in first semester 2014), 33 thousand car (33 thousand) and 41 thousand cargo unit (40 thousand), while on the Greek national routes the ships of Minoan Lines have transported 308 thousand passengers (316 thousand), 32 thousand car (30 thousand) and 29 thousand cargo unit (28 thousand).

the Attica group, than work services ferry through the companies Superfast Ferries and Blue Ferries Star, has concluded the second trimester of the 2015 with a profit clearly of 5,0 million euros on revenues for 69,3 million euros respect to a net loss of -4,4 million euros on revenues for 63,1 million euros in the period April-june last year. The result before taxes has been of positive sign for 10,8 million euros respect to a result of sign negative for -1,0 million euros in according to trimester of 2014.

In the first semester of the 2015 Attica group has diminished the liabilities archiviando the period with a net loss of -5,8 million euros on revenues for 108,9 million euros respect to a net loss of -21,1 million euros on revenues for 104,2 million euros in the first half last year. The profit before taxes has been pairs to 7,3 million euros respect to liabilities before taxes of -14,3 million euros in the first six months of 2014. In the first semester of this year the fleet of Attica has transported 1,53 million passengers (1,45 million in the first half of 2014), 181 thousand private cars (176 thousand) and 132 thousand cargo unit (126 thousand).
